Filming

Below are some examples of important, but easy to forget, points to succeed in filming an easily analyzed movie.

IMPORTANT POINTS

  • Inform persons to be filmed, so the filming doesn’t come as a surprise.
  • Focus on the object between the chin and waist and try not to miss any handling.
  • Make sure to film the operator's feet when he/she is walking long distances.
  • Plan your filming. Look for the optimal positions to film from and follow a couple of production cycles.
  • Make a test movie to verify light conditions and camera functions.
  • If possible, ask the operator to comment and explain the different operations and problems that can occur.
  • Film 1-3 complete production cycles to catch different variations.

DOCUMENTATION

  • Film the used method, not the one defined in the instructions and note the difference. We want to analyze and improve the actual method used.
  • Make sure that correct production aids are being used, e.g. lifting devices. Remember that the operator might be using a better method than the one defined. If so, make sure it is ergonomic and quality approved.
  • Discuss any special cases or extraordinary happenings with the operator.

PRODUCT VARIANTS

  • Make complementary movies to cover different product variants.
  • Note that there is no difference between assembling a blue or red lid. However, there could be a big difference in handling a big or small lid.
