Introduction
AVIX is an interactive improvement analysis system for all branches that include manual
labor. The system uses video techniques, standard times and 12 different activities. Time is
presented as productive, semi-productive or loss in a final analysis. Working with AVIX
requires knowledge about the theory surrounding the system.
Workstation
In AVIX a workstation is a physical place where a particular process is performed. This could
be the entire production of a product or a partial assembly procedure. Before work begins
with the analysis the flows in the different workstations should be mapped out for the
products in question. This is done in order to gain a context for the analysis work and to
provide the opportunity to gain an overview.
In AVIX each workstation is analysed separately. If several products are manufactured at the
same workstation an analysis must be performed for each product. If the differences
between different product models are small, a general analysis can be used as a basis and
small adjustments made for each product. Each model is saved as a separate analysis.
