Bad Ergonomics

When an operator needs to use extreme body movements, especially when working repetitively, there is a risk of injury. An important aspect of the improvement work is to identify bad ergonomics. Also, it is often easier to work ergonomically.

Bending means that the operator is bending with his hands below his knees to pick or place something (2.19 sec).

Stretching is needed when the operator picks/places something and his arm length is insufficient. A stretching is also added each time the operator reaches above his shoulders (0.66 sec).

Twisting is applied when the operator needs to turn at least 45 degrees (left/right) without moving his feet (0.71 sec).

  • All movements are based on moving “back and forth” and always in combination with A, B, C, D.
  • Generates  red time in AVIX due to bad ergonomics.
