Activating multi language

This page is a complement to the AVIX4 LANGUAGE SETTINGS instruction found at:  http://docs.solme.se/books/enterprise-manual/page/language-settings

Activating multi language for the first time, when there is an existing dataset:

  1. Enable multi language

  2. Add “None” to available languages

  3. Export library to xls. Copy “None” container, paste to desired language container. Import back to AVIX.

  4. Remove “None” from available languages.

Notice

  • Sandboxing and later replacing a library task will update the tasks internal ID (UID). Due to that reason, it is not advised to have old translations excel files waiting to be imported. If so, when importing to AVIX, AVIX will not recognize old UID:s from the excel file

  • A copied task will not have the same UID as the original, and translation will not have effect on both tasks

  • When importing a translated file, only languages that the user have permissions to translate will be imported

  • The None container and its existing data will always be available in the background (if None is added as available language again). It is not possible to delete the None container

  • Enable multi language is a global setting, and effects all users. Once enabled, it is not advised to turn it off (future added task information will end up in the hidden None container instead of in intended language container)

  • Input and fallback languages can be changed based on user preferences
  • Disabled multi language will first present task information from the “None” container. If None is empty, information will be presented from original language container (where first created)

  • When changing multi language setting on/off, AVIX need to be restarted in order to display language settings properly
